Verse memorization: "Colosas Boy"
(record posted December 03, 2005)
by: Roselyn Beltran

KNC on the record

There are kids who read and remember the facts of encyclopedias, but our Kawan ng Cordero (KNC) love to read and learn by heart the Holy Bible.

Rannie Tomale, 11 years old of Ampid Locale, North District, Rizal Division has mastered the
Book of Colossians.

He already won as first runner-up in the KNC National Competition and is preparing for another year. Rannie has then mastered the Books of Galatians and Ephesians.

Rannie told Kaanib.net that he memorize five verses a day, spending a month for the Book of Colossians. He owed this wonderful talent to prayers and is thanking God for guiding him. Rannie also noted that in mastering the verses, it should be learned by heart and not by rot. His father trained him at the age of eight, with his other siblings to master the verses of Matthew and they were to remember two verses each day.

He advises other kids to master the Holy Scriptures and be obedient to parents.

Besides mastering Bible verses and being a first honor grade five student, he likes to play paper airplanes.

Rannie wanted to become a Church worker someday. He now plans to memorize the Books to the Thessalonians.

Rannie is an active member of Teatro Bulilit, a KNC dance group.

Biggest WOK:Ingkong Kitchen's "Kawa"
(record posted October 22, 2005)
by: Roselyn Beltran
The goal is to feed the people. The number of people increases, the wok becomes bigger, and now the biggest wok.

This wok (a metal pan with a rounded bottom, usually used in Asian cooking) measures 70 inches in diameter and two feet deep. This wok, made of cast iron, was purposely made and according to its smith, “was the largest I had ever made”.

Brother Eli had to buy a mold worth P 48, 000.00 to produce the gigantic wok which costs P 200.000.00. Ten average-sized adults can actually fit in this big kitchen ware.

Because of its enormous size and weight, a crane had to be used to transport it into Brother Eli's kitchen.

Two hundred kilos of pancit and five sacks of mongo beans are cooked in this wok every week. The wok feeds thousands of people during mass baptisms, thanksgiving services and Bible expositions for free.

A tall ladle, which is as big as a construction spade, accompanies the wok. It measures five feet. Indeed, this is the biggest wok in our congregation and probably in the Philippines. Can you beat this?
